The Magus is a character with Occult Engagement that chooses a primary path of development based on occult power. The Magus is focused on the world of arcane knowledge and esoteric practices, and the occult pillar of The Pattern. Empowered occult places, occult institutions (having their own Tenets), and occult individuals often share a Binding using Sigilry. Associated items most often use a Bond of Attunement. The prototypical Magus has an upbringing experience that better prepares them for the life they typically lead. Revealing characters with this particular Aptitude Talent follows some common discovery approaches for all.
An Unfettered magus enjoys the advantages of Unfettered Casting.
Both Ritual and Ceremony are used in occult themes. These types of characters can make use of a myriad of occult empowered items and places that have similar properties (ex: Focal Point) to all characters following an aptitude path, by exercising their powers.
Primary Occult Classes: Bard (High Bard), Fighter (Eldritch Knight), Rogue (Arcane Trickster), Monk , Wizard, Sorcerer, Warlock
Except where noted, this class conforms to the DnD™ base classes as presented in the ©Players Handbook. Class choice in Incarna is a role-playing challenge more than anything. While any class is possible in the right situation/background, the elements of race, culture, gender, regional issues, and social norms all factor into what path a character is able to take. It is these constraining elements that give additional role-playing challenge. A full Character Background and Perspective Stories can explain anything, even complete deviation from any setting or rule restrictions. Multi-classing has restrictions from both mechanics and what makes sense from a setting and story perspective. Aptitude, Trait Features, and enhanced classes may provide a better alternative.

The Follower is a character with Divine Engagement that chooses a primary path of development based on divine power. The Follower is focused on the world of faith and divinity, and the divine pillar of The Pattern. The standard Rites of Passage accompany followers through their journey of faith. Both Ritual and Ceremony are used in divine themes. These types of characters can make use of a myriad of divine empowered items and places that have similar properties (ex: Focal Point) to all characters following an aptitude path, by exercising their powers. Empowered divine places, divine institutions (having their own Tenets), and divine individuals often share a Binding using Sigilry. Associated items most often use a Bond of Attunement. The prototypical Follower has an upbringing experience that better prepares them for the life they typically lead. Revealing characters with this particular Aptitude Talent follows some common discovery approaches for all.
Signifiers of Faith: It is common for the Follower to mark their Rite of Passage or signify their state of State of Grace; Tattoos, scars, personal grooming and fashion styles, symbolic adornments, etc.
Purpose: Characters can easily adopt one of the standard faith-based general focus or a Higher Purpose.
In order to be a Follower, the character must adopt at least a Shared Litany.
Divine practitioners most often use Adjuration (petitioning) for spells and Inscription (scrolls) Methodologies to make scribed magics. Scribed materials are accomplished in Celestine Script, and require literacy. Others are imprinted using a mix of art mediums, Runic symbols, and visual images (ornamental and abstract images, figures, shapes and colors). The latter are meant to be triggered upon glimpsing the entirety of the Inscription work and require no literacy.
Primary Divine Classes: Cleric, Druid, Monk, Paladin
