The Black Gift (quarry processing)

Posted on November 1, 2025

Steel Realms
The Black Gift is an area that the three quarries are extracted to and processed. It has a central road, equipment, transport, trading post and entertainment.

The Ducateon of Holt of Bromek-Mar originally began to explore mining these resources. They tried to connect their holt underground to these veins, but found that that were tunneling into an area of The Deeping of the Steel Realms. They were left accessing these resources from the surface only for the time they were occupying the holt.

Culture, Education, Institutions, and Traditions of Kulim’s Expanse

Posted on October 31, 2025

Steel Realms
Culture, Education, Institutions, and Traditions of Kulim’s Expanse reflects theose elements of the Klaurians in North Pines.

Society

  • Common names: Horune, Kulim

They organize into large extended families (clans) with territories. Once per year they have a gathering to allow young folk to meet, celebrate traditions, and cement alliances.

Physicality: They are very aggressive and have a tendency to fight (non-lethally) among themselves. Sports and athletics are an important way to bleed off this pressure. They consume fermented mare’s milk, and spend much time reveling in dance and song.

Individual Expression: Individually they have a tendency for unique and elaborate hair styles and dyes; Tattooing reflecting their family and area is deeply rooted in their culture. Their greatest warriors all possess elk horns which are anointed and sacred objects, used in battle against their foes with extreme potency and grisly results.

Faith of Kulim’s Expanse

Many Klauruans are followers of Ikribu (15%) – known as ‘Thunder Hooves’; 29% follow the Earth Elemental Goddess, 40% worship the horse mother Epona and the Wyld faith. A few venerate the Celestine of Helca, pursuing a path of enlightenment and uplift (see Centaur’s Temple in the ducal capital City of Rhylan). Like Ducateon, the Klaurian peoples have some of their faith based on sound – dance and song.

Like Ducateon, Klaurian faith ceremony is based on vibration and sound – stomping and song. The earth elemental goddess holds up the ground that shakes, Ikribu holds the thunder in the hooves (male symbol of power) and Epona the mother holds up the clan and herd (female symbol of power).
