Himmeldin Farm is part of the Ferrywood Leg; It is a self-sustaining community contributing to the maintenance of the shared resource of Ferrywood Hitch that supports all of them. It has 3 smaller land grants. Though called a farm, it is more.
Location: The settlement of Himmeldin Farm of the area known as Ferrywood Leg is the closest to the Ferrywood Logging Camp – just a half mile southeast of the Ferrywood Road when entering the forest to the camp. It is slightly hidden from the road, over a rise.
Himmeldin Family
In one form or another, the Himmeldin family has laid claim to this area. It has expanded to three large parcels as the family grew over time. The main parcel is 130 acres, the others are 50 each.

Ferrywood Leg (support settlements)

Ferrywood Leg is a set of three settlements just outside the entrance to the logging lands of the Ferrywood Logging Camp. The Ferrywood Road does not connect them, they are small personal settlements that support the camp in some way, bu tare mostly self-sustaining farmsteads. The three settlements form a “L” and hence the name ‘leg’ is applied. The constant small but sustained business with the logging camp has kept these three settlements around for a thousand years. The three settlements also support the Ferrywood Hitch – a quasi inn and stables that they all contribute to to keep costs down on their individual settlements by having a smithy they all support.
The settlement of Himmeldin Farm of the area known as Ferrywood Leg is the closest to the Ferrywood Logging Camp – just southeast of the Ferrywood Road when entering the forest to the camp.
