The Tolkisson Mountain Range was part of the legendary Maw of the North. Aside from a few select peaks, this world spine that separates the old (Fallen East) lands and new of the Steel Realms has little of the Volcanism on Helca. It was named after the famous hero that guided The Blood of Saemon to Helca, Harry Tolkisson. The long range has been home, fortress, barrier, and refuge to dragons, liches (The Terror Tendrils of Acerak), armies, King’s, strange creatures, and the scene of many tragedies and triumphs.
Sunrise of Shadows: AS the sun rises in the east, light coming through the Curtain of Night and over the Tolkisson Mountain Range, it creates an effect called The Gloomspine.
The Bromarre Stretch is the name of the foothills of the Tolkisson Mountain Range as it goes through the Barony of Kopriane. The The Sky Stair Peaks is near the end of its official run before the Altain Mountain Range continues west.On the northern edge of the Crags of Ilbarsia are a stretch of peaks the run to North Gate Garrison called the Rime Basin Peaks – all part of the Tolkisson Mountain Range. Here is the sacred deep lake of Rime Cauldron of Kaerslein – Elemental Consort of Water, one of her most sacred places. A massive iced waterfall called Kaerslein’s Veil spills into it, in a roil of fog and mist that spill out into multiple low point basins generating an icy rain in the high hills – creating a mystical barrier against the minions of the Lich Lords from coming over the mountains from the Oderach Valley on the other side of the main Tolkisson Mountain peaks.
