Commerce, Trade, and Items of Note in Rhyl

Steel Realms Logo
Commerce, Trade, and Items of Note in Rhyl is a well documented and managed part of Culture, Education, Institutions, and Traditions of Rhyl. The only area the North Merchant Cities trading interests step lightly in is the Grand Duchy of Rhyl – the stability of the flow of goods and soldiers along The Red March is priority for fighting the Lich Lords at North Gate Garrison. Disrupting this has caused entire houses and organizations to be wiped out – its stability is paramount and enforced by The High King’s elite force of Black Gorgon guards from The Autumn Wall and the High Priestess of Aerna in the Capital City of Rhylan.

Heart of Trade: The city of Klyben centralizes and is a crossroads of Commerce, Trade, and Items of Note in Rhyl with the flow of goods and factions of the Council of Rhylan are constantly struggling for more control in this place.

Defining Ideal: The Grand Duchy of Rhyl has been "The Shield of the North" in the wars of The Noble East vs. The Broken Lands for thousands of years as well as stradling the crossroads of many powers and maintaining a tense peace. The Chronicle of Rhyl shows it first as many fiefdoms of 'The Lands of Rhylan' (CY 5500's), then a united kingdom (CY 5980), then as a duchy of the High Kings' kingdom of Gladnor (CY 6514). Citizenship in The Grand Duchy of Rhyl requires both pledges of Rylan the Living + Oath of the Day Watch.

Culture: Rhylian ( 'rill', 'rillian') locales have locally flavored experiences, but unless noted, follow general Territories and Fiefdoms properties and all have shared culture - languages used, Character Experience, institutions, Law, etc; Most Settlements includes the basic experience of Characters of the Steel Realms.

Quizman (Mystical Trade) Locations Within Rhyl

The selling of mystical items is mostly limited to these purveyors, unless one is a member of a specific order or faith. The proliferation and sale of powerful items outside the efforts of The Red March and defending North Gate Garrison is heavily frowned upon. They have been known to provide services to make Bonnet Cap Mix from the Mushrooms of Rhyl for those seeking a boost, but do not harvest it themselves.

Items & Places (selling unique items) of Note

Tea Producers in Rhyl

The northern teas of Rhyl are known as the “Solavia Leafs” because those that are exported are almost all dried and shipped out of Solavia’s Landing. What is delivered to the Autumn Wall is almost all done at a secure place in City of Klyben.

Quarries & Building Materials

The construction projects of Rhyl generally pull from the same quarries. The mining and quarrying of resources in these places has no central control or administration – though some are owned and operated by a single company/owner. This is not a comprehensive list, as there are numerous small and local quarries, but these are the major ones running that can support commercial levels of output. A series of small aggregate quarries on the Bronzed-Edge Tableland are operated by the Kuernsi Umbakian family out of Clallums Cross.
