Legerdemain/Sleight of Hand

Posted on January 17, 2025 in D20 iCore Skill

[ Feature Impact ] > Positive

Sleight of Hand.

Accomplished Activity: Juggling, Pick Pocket, Game Trick (dice, cards, etc.), Palm Object

Sleight of hand can be used to hide what you are doing – such as picking pockets, palming an object (card tricks, etc.). It does not take this still to effectively hide something, but if you wish to hide an object on someone it grants knowledge of the best places that will be missed by a pat-down – places where clothing and culture may allow a refuge of deceit.

Accomplished Activity

Posted on January 17, 2025 in D20 iCore Trait

[ Feature Impact ] > Positive (Cost = 2 CP as a Trait)
– Normally only a single measure per activity can be held by a character.

Accomplished Activity allows a character to choose a specific activity with a specific scope of application (specific condition, equipment, and/or target) that they are particularly good at. Any attempt to accomplish that activity in reality or as a themed Performance gains a bonus on any applicable Features (skills, traits, etc.) Result Check. Accomplished Activity is usually based on the use of a feature but not always a requirement.

Lores and Social type Non-Combat Activity have documented options; These and others will be noted under their description. Many times skills such as Influence, Insight, and Performance are the foundation for success. Mystic powers and effects can have specific impacts on the outcome of such activity. Items can be used as props or may have actual properties or effects that impact the activity either incidentally or by specific purpose.

Some activities may require Utility and will be noted.

Stealth

Posted on January 10, 2025 in D20 iCore Skill

Stealth

  • Actively moving while silencing and camouflaging = Stalking; A character cannot use both Camouflage and Silence aspects of stalking unless they move at half their normal movement rate.
  • Passively waiting while stationary with cover and obscurement = Camouflage
    • If you are performing this for others (you can observe its effects), you get Advantage.
    • Obscuring small sites and minor features can be done using Stealth or Survival, Advantage at the highest common level of either if both.

Frame of Reference: All Skills are bound by the character's Setting (physics), and the details that their culture/society's Science (gathered by Technology), direct experience, and/or collective Records are capable of revealing. A character may not be able to apply their full measure on a different world, with different species and tools. With a common frame of reference, multiple specific Lores can stack.

Observant

Posted on January 9, 2025 in D20 iCore Trait

Observant is a trait that makes the character more prone to noticing subtle details and making deductions from them. It improves both Investigation activity and raw Perception uses. Generally speaking, an observant character can also process a scene as if they had taken greater care and time in a normal time frame.

i20™ Observant Details

The character gains a across-the-board +1 to all Investigation and Perception activities for each Measure of the trait. Unless a race or class grants it, characters can naturally only take a single Measure.
