The Sky Stair Peaks (Rhyl)

The Sky Stair Peaks is an odd formation that marks a bulge in the west edge of the Tolkisson Mountain Range on both sides as it goes west in the north. It bulges north into Kaald and south into the Grand Duchy of Rhyl by about 25 miles in each direction and 10 miles wide. The peaks get progressively smaller on the south and taller the further north starting at the spine of the Tolkisson mtns, like a set of steps from a distance. To its east are the Ghouls Teeth Peaks bordering the lands of North Gate Garrison.

Giants are known to inhabit this remote region.

The area was originally settled by earth and stone Giants/Colossi of the Steel Realms in the ages of Dominion in the east. They had multiple complexes, trading with Elves nearby.

Uncommon Knowledge / Average Difficulty

Around CY 3980 there is a ‘great walk along the The Giants Steps of many types of giants going north into the great mountains ranges or the Freelands; The refuge of the The Sky Stair Peaks was a place of safety and prosperity for them momentarily.

Scarce Knowledge / Hard Difficulty

The giants send aid to the Ducateon in CY 3516 – 3947 during the Troll Wars / CY 3949 giants ‘retreat’ feeling betrayed. Around 4300 the Ducateon attack the weakened presence in The Sky Stair Peaks and the Giants were destroyed or fled north.

Rare Knowledge / Very Hard Difficulty

Monarch’s Crystal was discovered by the Giants of Stone. They used the crystal to create a ‘resonance of bounty’ and they “grew” a strong vein of gold. They were known for their own gold jewelry making. It is believed for this secret, the Ducateon attacked the Giants after they were weakened.
