Simple Outcome / Easy Difficulty & Common Knowledge

For those native to or long-dwelling in the region, ALL Common Knowledge may be Pervasive.

Minor Outcome / Average Difficulty & Uncommon Knowledge

Their senior members enact the “Eyeless Sight” ritual in which they remove their eyes to gain some special insight. The lesser attendants see to the senior ones’ needs, though they seem to do fine without sight of the physical sort.

Scarce Knowledge / Hard Difficulty

The “Eyeless Sight” ritual grants them access to a ceremony in which they can enact The Hidden Hand of Malek upon a target to hide them utterly from any divination or detection of their presence or aura.

Rare Knowledge / Very Hard Difficulty

The Shroudmaster of Rhylan is the head of the order.

The “Eyeless Sight” ritual is used to anonymize interactions in the facility as well as send special scouts and missions into the Lich Lord’s lands, hiding their aura of life.

Well Kept Secret: The Hidden Hand cult of Malek still has a shrine and sacred attendants in Silverstone Tower. The ritual performed cleanses the aura for a time, hides the aura of life and allows secret forays north Rangers and World Watchers. This is an extraordinary well kept secret known only to a few in the prison who maintain it, a few who use it, The Shroudmaster of Rhylan, the Sisterhood of Dohar Jaideen and a few of the Order of the Black Gorgon.

  • Congregation of the Sightless: This congregation at the prison is an ancient congregation of the sect of The Hidden Hand of Malek at Silverstone Tower only.
  • Some adherents are sent to infiltrate the ranks of the heralds in the north in order to gain information which might compromise the mystical prison.
  • Rumors say the cult was involved in creating the tower itself.

Watchers Against the Dark: The Villian’s Ride often begins (rather than ends) in The Grand Duchy of Rhyl at the mysterious Houska Castle and trigger the walk west of the Curtain of Night. This way is easier when coming from a place of great cover – though the mysterious castle, Ilbarsi warriors, and patrols are constantly on the look out. The Justicars of Umbak in the Grand Duchy of Rhyl are one of the few who can sense this attempt as the participants near. This is another reason they are so prevalent there, outside of Umbak. The Congregation of the Sightless (of Malek) is also able to sense this, as is the riders of Har Cunetha (which is why the whims of the riders are indulged more often than not).

Concert of the Cats (Soriano)

Posted on June 26, 2026 in Steel-Realms

Steel Realms Logo

The Concert of Cats is a festival every year at the Temple of the Cat that celebrates the cats of Soriano and their success of keeping the rodents away from the vast stores of grain and bread. There is a point in the festival where goats milk, cheese, meats and other goods are set up and a call is made by the servants of the gods to bring in the cats to the Temple of the Cat on the west edge of the City of Soriano.

A channel funnels the working cats into the feast room. In this channel the cats vocalize in anticipation and thanks, echoing through a construct made to amplify it; These vocalizations are the ‘Concert of Cats’.

Many sick and wounded have their healing accelerated, and the dying are comforted and relieved of their pain for days by these sounds that often lead to a peaceful death.
