Positively (Enhanced) Impacted Senses

Positively Impacted Senses are Sensory Expression where a specific Impacted Sense is enhanced or strengthened in some regard so as to impact the base Perception checks of the character. When taken, one of the Impacted Senses is chosen: hearing, sight, smell, etc. Each sense is impacted independently unless otherwise noted.

Familiarity is not affected by a sensory adjustment – such as in a dog being intimately familiar with its owner’s scent. Only the sensitivity to perceive it is affected.

Feature (Trait): Where an naturally Enhanced Sense is not granted by race/species, they can only normally be developed a single measure at the time of Character Inception. Afterwards, only a single additional measure can be developed. Where Enhanced senses can be developed and improved over time, the CP cost is equal to the Perception check adjustment. Starting with 1 CP for ‘Minor’ and continuing through all 3 measures; In order to get to ‘Significant’ it would cost 1 CP (Minor) +2 CP (Major) +4 CP (Significant) = 7 total cost (-7 CP).

  1. Sense Augmentation: Meditation can be used to increase an already existing Enhanced Sense for an encounter at the cost of 1 Chi per point of adjustment.

Measures of Enhanced Senses

  • Minor: Outcome for checks where the sense plays a direct role apply a +1 adjustment.
  • Major: Outcome for checks where the sense plays a direct role apply a +2 adjustment.
  • Significant: Outcome for checks where the sense plays a direct role apply a +4 adjustment.
