Yog-Thul was a power Entity of Note in the Steel Realms. Little is generally known about the entity known commonly as Yog-Thul. Yog Thul was an aggressive entity from the Outer Dark during the epoch of the celestials, before the coming of The Blood of Saemon. He fought in their wars and beyond, gone now for thousands of years.

It was summoned as part of an unknown ritual by the Celestine entity of Khnum, who gave it material form. The bindings of Yog-Thul persisted beyond the Celestine’s death when they were slain in battle; His form was bound to the planet of Helca, so he could not escape it.

The True Arc of Yog-Thul

  • Khnum The Maker summons Yog-Thul.
  • Khnum dies fighting other celestials, Yog-Thul flees north away from the core Nakrian areas of activity of the Celestine of Helca
  • Yog-Thul senses an anima font in the great Forest of Rhyl and settles there, gathers the forest dwellers to try and amplify his Order of Being to leave Helca and at the same time, tries to remain unnoticed by larger powers.
  • White Dragon S_ sense him tapping into the Laey Lines of Rhyl and emerges from her nest of Rhylan to content with Yog-Thul. Yog-Thul flees – melding into stone as he is pursued and trapped into that state by S_ the dragon.
  • White dragon Ssiluzra Frost-Eye is “killed” by those trying to settle the area of Rhyl. The name given by her to the area is the one kept.
  • Ancestors of Greenstone Kingdom family took crystal ball from Ssiluzra Frost-Eye the dragons’ lair long ago (helps them find the Greenstone Anima Spring)
  • The banishment spell of Ssiluzra Frost-Eye fades after some time; Yog-Thul comes out of hiding to a changed world.
  • Yog-Thul goes east, finding the Spotted Escarpment of the Bronzed-Edge Tableland in Rhyl that commands the uplands and the passage between it and the Gaur Dinuae Forest, with access to the __ River as well.
    Yog-Thul assumes the persona of “Blood Tusk” and enslaves others to make The Tower of the Tusk (named for its odd curved shape) on the plateau to control passage through the area.
  • Yog-Thul makes the Black Altar, binding it to the Laey Line, siphoning anima from it and controlling anima to launch comet-like projectiles from the tower – giving it its new name of The Tower of the Tusk. He terrorizes the surrounding area and slowly gains power.
  • Yog-Thul‘s tower is assaulted by the Green Knight paladin Hemen Feastborn. Hemen kills the Black Altar, destroying his own mystical blade in the process and causing Yog-Thul to go into torpor.
  • Yog-Thul slumbers in torpor in the broken ruins of the Tower of the Tusk.
  • __ Coven Awakens Yog-Thul, tries to repair his altar.
  • Coven is destroyed, Yog-Thul is nearly destroyed – his material form is
  • Yog-Thul slumbers
  • Sorcerers repair the cursed tower, find the sundered Black Altar, pull visions from it and make Asheroon around it. They control the lands Yog-Thul originally intended to hold sway over – but initially they do it as a charter by nobles of Rhyl.
  • They get expansive and aggressive; The Purge of He_ happens. Asheroon falls
  • Black Altar of Yog-Thul remains’ are moved to prison.
