History of Ynth and the Ynthian Elves

Steel Realms
Ynth, known to all as the Kingdom of the Elves, encompasses the great forest of Ynth and its southern reaches between it and the abyssal that demarks the Border Kingdoms and southern vast. It is a place of ancientness and beauty reflective of the elven sensibilities. Outsiders are generally unwelcome, even the wyld brethren of the elves – Ynthian elves are a secretive culture apart from others and keep it that way. The records of the internal workings of the elves of Ynth are typically not recorded elsewhere except where they happen to touch upon events and folk outside their realm. This makes a great deal of its history difficult to come buy for any but Ynthian elves themselves.

Ynthian elves do not discuss the inner workings of the kingdom or people with outsiders.

An Ancient Accounting: Long ago the elves knew they would have to integrate to survive, and that that integration would corrupt their essence. The wisest elves developed a plan to collect the remote and isolated elven settlements and the elves that came with The Blood of Saemon (The Time of The Crossing) to settle Ynth (away from and let the corruption be absorbed in its vastness. The dwellers of Ynth were the sacrifice for the greater elven cause. The elders knew it would take millennia, and they hoped that the corrupting influence of the dark gods and other races and effects could be stopped and even perhaps reversed. The elves of Ynth seek to one day heal the Aelfpaths and leave Helca to return to the stars. It is still the hope of a select few who remember or were there, that this can come to pass, but with each century the truth and hope dwindles.
