The University of Baratriae is still a church of the goddess Ezrilus, but the entire Town of Baratriae is centered around the university here, that deals in occult and celestial lore. The pathways that once were wonders of nature and beauty now connect dormitories and town buildings with the main library where all scholarly work is centered around.
“Knowledge takes you on a journey away from your comfort zone. Passion allows you to embrace this journey.”
Part of the Education in Rhyl is an overview of one of its own famous citizen called The Mind’s Dark Shine – covering the passions of learning and oddly the Silver Pelt ‘variant’ of Lycanthropes of the Steel Realms in the Rhyl. In Rhyl and the Feelands, Lycanthropes seems to be particularly prone to hunting and killing the undead minions of the Lich Lords. It is covered in depth at its source at the university.
Sacred to Ezrilus: The Church of the Silvermoon grounds are in ruins, from being sacked long ago, but the ancient altar was moved and reconsecrated as a smaller church of Cold Silver Walk in the University of Baratriae that it once stood as part of.

CY 6977 The Mind’s Dark Shine is published – The observations and preachings of the luminary of Ezrilus named Tannia Lorbeltn – called “The Mindshine”. The collected work is a look into madness, lunacy, the pursuit of knowledge & enlightenment, and Lycanthropes of the Steel Realms.
Tannia was a druidic luminary of Ezrilus. Her collected work on her research into madness, lunacy, enlightenment, and lycanthropy in The Steel Realms is ‘The Mind’s Dark Shine’. She, in turn, was called “The Mindshine”. She was a powerful animist and shapeshifter – even capable of using some of her magic spells in shifted form! Some associate her with the increased amount of Lycanthropes in Rhyl.
Magnus Ubertus the necromancer philosopher was famous as having been cured of lycanthropy and having studied The Mind’s Dark Shine and, in essence, ‘completing’ its work. His best friend, research assistant and life partner, the half elf Justus Ballendoc, who was an adherent of Delleth. It was Just us who formalized the text to be added to Tannia’s collected works, and who taught for nearly 100 years

The Town of Baratriae (bar-a -try-ay) is an ancient site of a temple of Ezrilus in Rimevale of the Grand Duchy of Rhyl. It was once renowned for glittering ice cicles and frost that accumulated on it, but now the large temple has fallen to disrepair. Well known here, but keeping a low profile, is the Darkstone Security Enclave .
It is still a church of the goddess, but the entire town is centered around the university here, that deals in occult and celestial lore. The pathways that once were wonders of nature and beauty now connect dormitories and town buildings with the main library where all scholarly work is centered around.

Rimevale is a small vale on an uplift along the south edge of the great Forest of Rhyl in The Grand Duchy of Rhyl. It has a small stretch of low hills to the west, a couple villages, and an old ruined temple that serves as a place of scholars in the single town. There are several small streams running throughout that area. The elevation is about 350-450 feet higher than the normal floor for the Rhyl Forest, making the temperature here lower in the winter and the area prone to cold fogs. This location bears the Frost-Melded mark an ancient encounter with the Dragon of Rhyl.

The Autumnleaf Ale Houses are found in many places of the Grand Duchy of Rhyl. These are places where a few north wines, ales, and gin can generally be found. The Institution has a long history of thousands of years in Rhyl, and have always been able to be one of the “most stylish and upscale establishments” in the major city’s of Rhyl.
In addition to their own variety’s, in a few places they partner with local growers and brewers (but only where they do not compete).
Initial Description: The Autumn leaf establishments are stylized and distinctive. The facades all have Autumn motifs with frolicking faerie-kin dancing with humans. They are inviting and it almost seems like, even in winter, the friendly and inviting sounds can be heard far away. It conjures up in the mind a vision of warm hearth, delicious ale, warm bread and fresh butter.
Capital City of Rhylan: This has a larger motel that includes a “Nobles Quarters” of three rooms, offered with mercenary guards and a dedicated bath and stable.

This is a specialized labor-intensive, time-consuming process of fermentation, which relies on native wild yeasts and bacteria and requires lengthy aging in oak barrels. Production is often limited to a few months a year, resulting in a limited supply, and relies on the expertise and tradition of brewers to ensure consistency.

They have special partnerships with the elves in two places of Rhyl to get Maple (North Vinewood Forest) and Spruce (Gaur Dinuae Forest) for barrels.
They are all at least partially owned by the Marack Family of Rhyl, an ancient noble family line who fell from power when the wars between the kingdoms of Rhyl in ancient times took place, but survived because of their trade houses. Instead of trying to compete with the trade houses and economic might of the Merchant Cities, they converted these to ale houses. A lucrative, albeit hardly ‘noble’ endeavor, that kept them out of politics.
It is said that many of the family are longer lived and have faerie blood in them. The trade agreements with the elves as the source for this are more than likely.
The Marack Family of Rhyl itself has a great deal of money, having “invested” in elements that turned the fiefdom into a Grand Duchy under the High King (perhaps as revenge?).

The ancient and partially ruined port city of Saltmarch is located north of the Sabarmati River mouth on the Salt Shore of the Reedbed Principality in the Grand Duchy of Rhyl. The city is focused on ship building and a secondary civilian port. This is an ancient and many times razed and rebuilt town without walls and having a large sprawl. Solavia’s Landing is the primary civilian port on the Salt Shore, and Saltmarch the secondary. To the south of the city is the estuary and river mouth of the Sabarmati River, spanned by the Whitescale Bridge connecting Arbenants Port.
Quality items from the Inderood Bronzeworks in the City of Fortun are made for ships built and repaired on the Rhylian ports on Lake Caolite.
Here to can be found the home of House Narcosa, the order of Necromancers. Though seemingly connected to its presence, the large and ancient cemetery mound that was once sacred to the Pine Tribes is kept respectfully inviolate by the order – even maintained by them.
This location as a Autumnleaf Ale Houses.
Briarwood Presence: This location has the presence of a typical Rhylian Briarwood.
Crime: Though this place may have a couple local gangs, the predominant Rhylian Criminal Presence is The Dead Hand.
