Kaerslein – Elemental Consort of Water (care-slayin) – The Lady of Water; The divine Wyld Entity principal of natural world cycles and forces of physical manifestation; the cleansing, cycling, healing, and restorative nature of water, tides, rivers and associated symbols, concepts, and metaphors. Common to the elemental perspective, the goddess are seen as a wellspring of life giving and cleansing ; In the case of Kaerslein a bringing of nutrients, cool cleaning and nurturing water that enriches the soil for plants and animals.

The modern age is heavily defined by the clash of faiths in the Affray of Darkness and Light” in which the entity plays a secondary part (mostly guided by Gaia).

Role: The Bringers of the Water; Secondary foe of those who wish only to conquer and destroy and/or corrupt nature

In the Rime Basin Peaks is the sacred deep lake of Rime Cauldron of Kaerslein – Elemental Consort of Water, one of her most sacred places. A massive iced waterfall called Kaerslein’s Veil spills into it, in a roil of fog and mist that spill out into multiple low point basins generating an icy rain in the high hills – creating a mystical barrier against the minions of the Lich Lords from coming over the mountains from the Oderach Valley. There is a large temple to her in Karolak.

They are an entity that reflects the powers of Conviction through Essence. They are a core part of the pantheon of The Wyld Faith. They are a seasonal manifestation of the Grey Feather Calendar.

Kaerslein is known as the female (life giving) manifestation of the helpful outcomes with her associated element; There is an associated male (destructive) manifestation and a third countenance because manifold are the forms of water! This Great Numinous Spirit which has manifested through the will of living Helca and is directed by Gaia in most things. While this ‘goddess’ has not affirmed participation in The Godspeak Accord of the realms, she generally follows the stance of Gaia. She has been known to manifest to fight against those who would kill sacred beasts, places, and environmental manifestations under their protection without thought or bias to Light, Dark, Grey, or even Green foundations. She is considered by related elemental creatures to be the supreme arbitor of their behavior within the shere of Helca itself, and can summon and bind several of the associated elementals with ease.

Stolen Blood-Fire

CY 8600 On one of the Transit of Western Fire quests, a vampire blood knight of the Lich Lords sought to take in the blood of the World-Daughter. Trishin, the daughter of Merkaine, was killed by the vampire spilling the blood-fire on the ground; This is the eternal fire at Trishin’s Withering in the town of Tranmere.

Afterward the Killing: The World-Daughter of Merkaine was killed by the vampire minion of the Lich Lords, with some of the blood of Merkaine held captive and bent to the will of the Lich Lords, her fire-within sect power was lessened. Aerna gained in popularity and influence in the north.

The Hunt for Revenge: For six years, the new World-Daughter of Kaerslein – Elemental Consort of Water hunted the vampire known as “Flame-Ender” in the north – using all her power to bend the elements to shield her. She fought and slew it near Ara-Luu, leading a force of vampires they turned with their corrupted power trying to cross the mountains. She drew on her elemental power, freezing the vampires in place. Each one fought her individually as she freed them, until her sister’s killer was revealed. She pierced him with an ice spike, and drank all the blood that came out, finishing the vampire. She used her elemental power to grind the corpse into pulp, and its bones to dust. She melded with the snow once her sister’s blood had been freed and cleansed of corruption through her taking it in. She sacrificed herself to keep the flame alive and finish her journey. She returned to the site where her sister was killed, burning on the inside the whole way. She finally succumbed at the site of her sister’s death. Her burned bones are as a saint in a local church at Tranmere..
