Ioun (the many-eyed beast of chaos)

Steel Realms
Ioun is a Steel Realms Creatures of Chaos. It came through the valley in about CY 400 (or so, it was a long time ago) during the age of fellowship. It stood as tall as a tower, as big as an inn, with a hundred goose necked eye stalks. There are almost re records of it. It was called “The watcher” and “The gods plaything” and “The Many-Eyed”. It is said that it could not forget anything it ever saw with its eyes. It was seemingly immune to divine magics, and undetectable by the gods and their avatars. It could not be seen or sensed by higher order beings. It cut a swathe following the Beyne River westward. It was stopped by an a magus who is not remembered, but believed to have been associated with the tome of Blind Passion in that would later be added to Rastillions Diabolique.

the Eyes of Ioun

These fabled items were scavanged from the remains of the creature and fashioned into mystical items. None have ever surfaced to public knowledge, and most beleive they were lost to use and time. Many rumors surround them – that they could record the events around them, could be seen through like a coven eye, that even the gods could be spied on using them. Gods would destroy any they find.
