The modern age is heavily defined by the clash of faiths in the “Affray of Darkness and Light” in which the god plays a significant part.

This deity has affirmed participation in The Godspeak Accord, murky though these ties may seem at times. There is no known position Malek has taken in regards to the Oath of the Day Watch, though his commonly aligned efforts with the Unholy Trio give the appearance that it is not likely.
Malek as the “revealer of the hidden”: Many pay homage (though not venerate directly) to Malek as “The Hidden” – historians, seekers of knowledge, archeologist and the like who seek knowledge that takes risk and effort to unearth. Making that which is hidden, revealed is a role that Malek sometimes assists with. Malek’s motivations for good fortune in such endeavors are inscrutable and often seem whimsical… though it is difficult to know when his unseen hand may be involved or it is just luck.
The order of Malek has had many sects over the ages, and never a centralized organization – only regional. This grew more fragmented as the heartlands of Noble East was settled after the fall of the dominion lands of the east to the Orrish. Rather than fleeing, some of the followers of Malek chose to stay, and saw the fall as an opportunity… and so the cult still persists among the Orrish (goblins mostly).
Major Aspects: ; These are common knowledge; Other aspects/symbols/emblems may vary by specific sect/cult or institution.
Minor Aspects: Reckoning and confrontation – The Lich Lords have taken over the confrontational aspect of the world in their role of nemesis. Malek feels this has been stolen!

The master of rumors and dealings in the shadows. Caretaker of hidden and forgotten lores. This role has mostly been forgotten in current times. Malek was not always the evil god of deceit. Once he was known as “the hidden hand”, “the hidden player”, “the spoiler” – he was the patron of trickery, subterfuge, cunning (gaming even), and the underdog (given sacrifice in order to remain underestimated and overlooked by one’s enemies) – not the decidedly negative “deceiver” and “betrayer” he has become through his association with the gods of darkness. There have been several events of great importance where only afterward was the subtle hand of Malek made known. The original High Temple of Secrets lies somewhere in the heartlands, originally away from the lands of dominion. It has been lost to time and purposeful obscuring. It is known as Dorma Ceflu, named after the head of the order of Malek, when his agents still were somewhat trusted, and Malek was not a faith synonymous with evil.
The veneration of Malek in the manifestation of Billobo has long ago ceased. It is hardly remembered except in traditions. Billobo was Malek’s shadow made flesh – it would often leave its master and get up to no good.
