Half Klaurian babies take the species of the mother to ensure an easy birth that does not kill them. Humanoid offspring have vaguely horse-like features – “horse face”, large with thick brownish skin, with an emphasis on physical attributes over mental. Rarely are elves able to intermingle their blood, but it does sometimes happen.

Real Origins: Among the refugees of The Blood of Saemon were a band of Klaurians. After the great battle in the Valley of Sighs subsided, they quietly left, following a beacon calling to their chief and shaman. For ages they were thought to have gone extinct, but they settled in the deep Rhyl Forest, and drew power from the Navel to keep themselves hidden until their numbers increased and they migrated to North Pines.
CY 611 > A great battle is fought in North Pines against the Dragon of Rhyl. They Kalurians lose many, but their courage and power does manage to wound and impress the dragon. An informal treat or accord is made – from that point North Pines is left alone, though any seeking refuge from the dragon mare agreed to be given over to her if she asks.
