The full name given by scholars is Surlesh Darkvein’s Frozen Souls. Surlesh was a priest of Sun Stealer who encountered them first, during an incursion from the Darklands after the north kingdom of Dundaria fell to the Lich Lords. The Orrish tried to extend the darklands, believing that it was going to be empty after the great death. The winds of the Fangedfrost were so strong, they tore essence from those they killed and left behind the Frozen Souls. A floating black orb that radiated cold was left in its place. They only way to ‘kill’ them was to bond with them, bringing the darkness and cold inside the binder. Undead cannot do this. After thousands of years, there are few left.

  • Magic Initiate: One of the Cantrips is Blade Ward – – this can be set up for 10 rounds (no Concentration) and triggered as a Reaction. The spell Chromatic Orb (cold) and does +1 per dice of damage, but an equal amount (of the bonus) to the caster as it draw life essence.
