The Bleak Swamp (Steel Realms)
The massive Bleak Swamp has many names, but everyone at least knows this Natural Feature of the Steel Realms by this. It was not always there, it seemed to form like a wound over hundreds of years. It has persisted ever since. Efforts of the Reclamation of the Wyld have availed nothing, so it is thought to be some naturally occurring calamitous source – but the devastation has relentlessly persisted beyond what is normal. To this extent, it is a significant part of The Calamitous History of The Steel Realms.
To its SW is the Grand Duchy of Fhayl.
A few who know the secret of The Blood Bleaking believe that the preservation of the Fhayl Forest from its corruption was the source that made The Bleak Swamp – or at least channeled some of its terrifying effects there, making it worse.
