The Sworn Oath of High King’s Service of service to the High King (the Pledge of Mercy and Justice), while pledged to the High King, the Sworn Oath is recorded in the Hall of Heroes and administered by the Guild of Solars. The code, regardless of Sworn and Sanctioned Oath or not, is a general code of loyalty to the ideal and person of the high kingship. The pledge has been used in some form or another for eight thousand years. It is held in high regard and held in strictest observance, though rarely requiring a true bond. The law reference refers to the law of the High King. The Law of the High King exist and generally governs all interactions with institutions and people; This is often adjudicated by members of the World Watchers.

The Dominion of the High King Lands means the rulers have given the Sworn Oath of High King’s Service to the High King of the Steel Realms. The oath is always sworn before a Sigil of the Office of the High King.

  • I acknowledge that The High King [name] is the lord and master of all civilized lands of the kingdom of Gladnor and the people of the Steel Realms.
  • The High King is the shield of all the civilized peoples of the Steel Realms; I pledge my mind, body, Essence, and my material wealth to ensure the raising of this shield in defense of the realms.
  • The law of the High King is my law and through it so am I protected and so shall I protect their people.
  • I know no other Justice than that of the High King. Justice creates stability, stability creates tolerance, and tolerance creates prosperity.
  • I will do all in my power to ensure the future security and prosperity of the kingdom and its inhabitants, exercising Justice and Mercy in ways all acknowledge as good and useful.
  • As the land and lord are one, as one prospers, so does the other; My lord is the will of the land and its peoples, their interest are my own.
  • I shall obey the commands of my lord and liege; my loyalty is my honor.

Characters making a Sanctioned Oath may gain a single use of Good Luck per Gaming Session.
