Morkoth, Arch-Magus

Steel Realms
Morkoth was one of the most powerful wizards of The Blood of Saemon that survived the Godswar. He was reclusive, after the Godswar he sought isolation, traveling west and north and eventually vanished from immediate memory.

After the conquering of the east by the Orrish, the lands west of the Tolkisson Mountain Range were settled swiftly as refugees poured into them. The Sea Kings, The Bronzefolk, The fall of Dundaria to the Lich Lords, the rise of the High King and the many calamities like the Storm War of the Rushing Hills came and went, and Morkoth’s Tower stood in silent watch – calling down fire and sickness on all who dared make incursions into the area of The Wizard’s Tract. The folk who came to dwell in the tract, generation after generation, flourished for thousands of years despite anything else going on.

Chainer of Terrors: It is believed he was the primary magus for the creation of Silverstone Tower – a supernatural prison.

The Last Stand?: It is recorded that Morth himself was last seen on the site of Houska Castle. Rumors say that he indeed helped to raise the ‘castle’ as a means of stopping the tide of undeath driven by the Lich Lords. Perhaps this was the cause of his ultimate demise, for he was never seen again publicly.

Brotherhood of Morkoth

A generation later, the brotherhood was first witnessed. The Brotherhood of Morkoth was a mysterious fraternity that grew from the apprentices of the wizard Morkoth. These would monitor other wizards throughout the realms, ensuring some ethical perspectives within the Occult Culture in the Steel Realms. At times, those claiming to be his apprentice would make themselves known in Osteni (Fallen East of the Steel Realms) during the times of Dominion. These wizards fought duels with cruel and evil wizards, tracked fell creatures, and in general tried to promote a certain aesthetic and culture among occult practitioners to ensure it was seen as positive in the eyes of the common folk.
