Alerting Feather of Elementals Coming

The group travels to their home base: Creedson Area of Crestwold. There they attempt to contact Feather to pass on the information about the “friendly elementals” coming to do work.

NOTE: The PCs did talk about going to Hotherwale and talking to the folks there, but did not, relying on Feather doing the work for them, but the message was delivered to her reflection in the “Malorian Message Mirror” (she has been forced to become more cooperative with House Malor) and the animal mistook her reflection for her.

Return to Torrelsons Ford

The town is quiet and subdued. People look at you as though you were pariahs, though no one openly shuns you or refuses your trade for purchasing things. No one approaches you, and a few cross the street to be out of your path. You do not get the idea that you, or your associates, are welcome here.

Decide what to do!?

The harbor seems bustling, and there are the masts of a couple larger boats, one flying a large red flag atop it. Your boat is as you left, still on the sand bar. There is no crew, and though no one tries to stop you, there is an obvious watch on the boat by the Baron’s soldiers.

Search the Sea Slug

Investigate DC 16 rune on gang plank (does not detect as magic) House Malor – they will know when it is boarded.

Mast hole, rune of the sisterhood DC 20 = scry (it will trigger successfully, but not work to scry/divine = chain protection!)

Return of Lucky Red Scarf – The Salvager

LRS is back! It is his red flag flying.

Amidst the main slurs sent your way, a boat is rowed out. A clean, cool rain begins to fall. The figure shouts for permission to come aboard, pulling back his cowl to reveal a halfling face. “I would have settled for trumpets and a parade, but you just cant leave enough alone, eh!?” The face of Lucky Red Scarf stares back up, asking for a hand up.

– Im in the salvage business now. What with the truce, lots of sunken wecks to be salvaged.
– Did you ever take care of that little problem? Well, i imagine those two are long gone. I tried to find them yesterday and theres no trace… you would best move on with whatever other missions you got.
– Im looking for people with a certain capability of violence… i need protection out there from patrol vessels now. Its in disputed waters, so no one really has full claim.
– The rumors are flyin, you brought quite the fireworks here. No one likes ye. Everyone is suspicious. Hell, if we had our old relationship, i’d probably be forced to break it. You don’t have to tell me everything, we aint friends… but tell me what you can, theres a lot of people with bets on various issues.

RUMOR of human sacrifice!

There was a raid in Lilymarch, an entire Hamlet’s population of 28 people vanished in one night. They say it was a shadowy figure with a silver helm that glints even in the darkest night. Rumors of a cult that he leads are found everywhere now… the darkest tales whisper of human sacrifice. Some say the Baroness of Lilimarch has put a 1000sc bounty on the creature, whoever it is.

Danoir tries to get word to madame Xanos of the Elon, but there is no good opportunity… hire a messenger!

One Last Thing

One last thing. A little interest is fine, but a lot is dangerous. If you need to contact me, do it through one of the proprietors of the taverns dockside.. I cannot afford to be seen with you much in the open.

Meeting with Coran Maerkle (Tolman’s Guides)

Coran and his assistant Fred come with a pair of bodyguards to meet the group as they are preparing their ship.

I understand you have returned and there are a great many changes happening, stemming from your actions. As you are movers and shakers, i would like to extend this opportunity for a relationship that may be mutually beneficial. Change is the only constant, and the trade throughout the barony is stagnant. Now that truce is declared, a real trade organization that can bring outside investment is whats needed to jump start the economy again… that is the interests I front – Tolman’s Guides. There may be a little history to get through, but i understand you are free of all previous entanglements. I could use strong folk like yourself, AS you can see, i have the dock workers already as an ally through my new friend Frad here. I see the strength i have in myself, in you… what say you to an alliance for the prosperity of Crestwold?

Frad Elgor is with him (in disguise). The PCs say “we will be in touch” basically. Coran takes this as a rejection. Everyone involved realizes that the PCs have just set themselves in opposition.
