Seven Spires/Temple of Aerna of the Golden Hem (ruins)

Steel Realms

The Temple of Aerna of the Golden Hem is in the NE of Umbak, north of Falcon Reach in the hills of the Seven Spires. These lands are claimed by the Lofflin Family of Umbak and ruled in the name of the King of Umbak. in CY 7612 the area was assaulted by Orrish led by Sualmen the Broken Tooth, an Orrish champion when his horde swelled up in the under-reaches of the Temple of Aerna Golden Hem. They poured out of a wound in the earth, spilling south out of the Seven Spires area. They were fought to a standstill at great cost. It is estimated that 5,000 Orrish died over a month of battles. It took several years to rid the area of the survivors that fled into the hills and would continue to subsistence raid.

The Seven Spires

The crest of the slow rise of Falcon Reach is the apex in the north, where there are seven low peaks that surround the plateau. These peaks are low, but all taper (roughly) to a spire. The entrance to the plateau is between the spire of Eastlight Pyre in the east, and Broken Hem in the west. The later is more of a ridge than a spire. The sun rising from the east hits the eastern spire framing the entrance so that it appears as a glorious sun burst around it from there. Many stop to pray here an invoke glory to Mother Aerna.

Dunstrand Rising Living World CHRONICLE > Dunstrand Rising is a Living World campaign set in Grand Duchy of Dunstrand in the Steel Realms of the [Fantasy] Steel Realms Setting (planet of Helca).

The locals are carving onto the sides the spires. It looks like the temple is being rebuilt and there are works projects around it. So many people are moving with efficiency. The whole entrance area is being turned into a monument.

Being rebuilt.

The White Mother’s “House of Sauvegarde”

The White Sisters of Aerna have a chapter house here name The White Mother’s “House of Sauvegarde”. They combine it with the local sacred foodstuffs of The Amarata to make it, possibly, the greatest place of healing and succor in all of Umbak (when it is finished).

Bastion of the Traveler

The weighted hem of Aerna Golden Hem is adorned with a button, a button that is the Shield Of Whelm. A place of rest and cool water.

Despite several attempts to collapse the entrance to The Deeping, it has shifted. There has been multiple battles to keep them contained. For the most part, the clergy of Aerna has been able to know when an incursion is about to happen, and each attempt is checked, resulting in terrible losses for the Orrish and retreat.

Dunstrand Rising Living World Set in Grand Duchy of Dunstrand in the Steel Realms of the [Fantasy] Steel Realms, as a Living World storyline.

The restored road leads through a rocky hilled area and up to a plateau on which a newly restored temple to the Lightbringer faith stands. Its obvious that the last couple years have been busy ones, and that there are still ruins that are being shored up and rebuilt. The outside walls are a beautiful white color, and an image of Aerna is large enough to be visible from a half kilometer away. The temple proper is obviously functioning, pennons fly and people move in and out. There is a yard pen with horses. Fighters in light armor are ranged outside of it, armed with sword and shield emblazoned with the forge of Ikribu. Banners in old Umbakian announce the family name, the temple name and pronounce accolades to the gods. In the day, the temple is constantly being cleaned and scrubbed by the sisters of Aerna. There is also fresco with a symbol for order of the White Sisters of Aerna.

Since the Gallants restored the Blood Blade of Umbak to the family, they have used it to throw out any remaining Orrish or Nurth, and restore the temple.

Siress Colette Lofflin was promised in marriage to Aelwyn Cei (‘Kye’) of the Gallants. After not receiving any news after he traveled north, they assumed he died. She went into the order of the White Sisters of Aerna, restoring the temple in the order’s name – though the defenders are followers of Ikribu, not Balthazaar as of old. She brought sponsorship from her family to the restored temple as well. The restoration work has put the family in the extreme good graces of the King of Umbak.
