Pervasive Knowledge / Very Easy Difficulty

Othric’s Hammers is a Bonded Band in the Northern Heartlands. The band was formed in CY 9130 in Rhyl, after its leader, Othric, served his time on the wall at North gate Garrison fighting the Lich Lords minions for 5 years. In 9139, Othric left the north and operated in the western regions of the Central Heartlands.

Othric’s reputation in the north was as a well prepared fighter used to the cold and inclement conditions of the north. Since going south, as he got older, his reputation took a bit of a hit. He is known as a good leader, a motivator. He is capable of molding green troops into a solid fighting force in less time than normal.

Common Knowledge / Easy Difficulty

Othric worked his way up to the position of Sgt. in his service in North Gate Garrison. He was a natural NCO and known as a serious motivator. His last year was nothing more than training fresh recruits. He obviously grew bored with this life, and left after his 5 year term of service was up.

Othric’s Hammers is the ‘brand’ of Othric “Deep Scabbard”. He is a mercenary from the area around Rhyl and has been fighting in the merchant cities and dunstrand areas for a decade, though he is said to have fought at Northgate Garrison for years. He really only has a tiny group of a half dozen (including baggage and groom) himself, and then recruits as needed for the job. He is known to wield a hand and a half sword and usually wears medium or heavy armor.

He got his name from the hand-and-a-half sword he’s carried since the band’s founding. It is a well polished blade he is quick with – the blade itself seemingly better used by him 2 handed. He carries it in a large ornate scabbard, bigger than it needs to be.

His latest second is a big name named Wade Smith that is a solid tactician and skirmisher from range. He made his reputation fighting the pine tribesmen west of Rhyl. Since is man Wade joined him a few years ago, he has had more success and improved reputation.

Uncommon Knowledge / Average Difficulty

Othric has lost a few times, and is a bonded mercenary with a decent bond amount around 500sc.

He has a grim countenance, broody and dour to go with a strange straight diagonal black line across his left cheek – a facial wound from his time fighting the undead.

Scarce Knowledge / Hard Difficulty

Othric is known to be a man of large ego and a boaster. He is proud of his time in the north, and wears a bracer with the number of skeletons and zombies he killed – it is heavily notched! He relies more on his second to plan, and uses his skill as a drill sgt to inspire and motivate.

Rare Knowledge / Very Hard Difficulty

Othric would have actually kept serving in the north, but he was asked to leave. It was discovered he lead several ‘expeditions’ beyond the wall, seeking treasure and booty. He was wildly successful for three sojourns, but got two killed and three wounded on his last and was forced out of service at the end of his 5 year term. To a few, in a drunken state, he has boasted of his treks into the frozen north, where he is claimed to have bound a Frozen Soul.
