The Modern Age – The Crossing Era is seen as the “modern era”, and began the use of a new annual passage time. The term “CY” for dating is most often referred to as the “Common Year”, though before that it was sometimes seen as the “Crossing Year”. It is used to denote the years passed after the Coming of the Blood of Saemon, and adopted now by almost all in the realms, though the Dragon and Nahkrian calendars continue to track in their own counting as well.
