History

Background

Genre is terrestrial future. The Fourth World War was initially fought with shadow agents, human experiments that developed strange abilities, the sort of things kids might call “super powers”. Things escalated quickly though and before long nukes were unleashed. Nanites were used to mop up the radiation. Unfortunately the nanites themselves got corrupted. Much of the radiation was cleansed; however, corrupted nanites caused horrific plagues and cancerous mutations, wiping out or reformatting even more life before a nanite EMP was used to wipe all their “programs”. People have largely rebuilt. New nations and city states arouse in the aftermath, and large tracks of the world now have little to no human presence. For instance, few will venture into the wastes that were once eastern North America and very little population remains on the Asian mainland.
