The Fountain of Albocris

Adventure Overview

The Fallen Lightbringer Monastery of Ablocris adventure is a low challenge exploration the allows the group to explore an ancient monastery and the surrounding lands that were sacked over a hundred years ago. Those who lay claim on the lands currently would like a definitive explanation of the strange things associated with it, and to make sure there are no squatters or unknown dangers before sending out a full force of re-settlement activities.


The Fountain of Albocris

Non-Detection: With a Faerie Vexation, the normal discernment of any magical effect of or on the Fountain of Albocris is not revealed.

Fountain of Albicros Mystical Operation: The fountain has been enchanted to cause havoc by the Faerie Smallfolk; The initial results caused the forces of the monastery to be suspicious of the folk from the surrounding farms and steadings. The magic effects tore the unity of the collective forces and they fell easily to the invaders in the war – the death of the defenders left no one to trigger the Faerie Vexation’s end… so it has persisted. The daytime is negative, the nighttime is positive. Natural animals are unaffected by its magic, and observation will reveal nothing despite several drinking from it.

Condition: @ Day

The fountain is flowing wildly. The angelic figure blows its horn vigorously, and the water flows robustly into the basin. The entire foundation and basin radiate a faint heat like a warm morning. The fountain seems cleaner and more pristine than it should, as if its been actively maintained after the sacking of the monastery.

Condition: @ Night

The fountain is a pale white alabaster-like surface. The fountain seems to be covered in frost. Heavy wisps of fog run down its basin to the foundation and ground under it. The angelic figure that blows a trumpet looks sadly outward, shoulders slumped and only a trickle of water flowing from the end of the horn into the basin. The entire thing radiates a melancholy feeling around it.
