The Maneuver in Action (a guideline)

Characters reading/experiencing this Handbook type Knowledge reference or having it taught to them will learn to work in conjunction with a military or battle-line tacticians as they attempt to lead a group (squad, etc.) to execute a specific Maneuver by order within the chaos of combat. They become familiar with the Maneuver. Experience can gain them a significant advantage when executing it. Sometimes the contents is focused to only providing an insight and application to a specific Adversary.

Common Requirements: Those normally associated with Handbook level experiences.

SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE: Reference works and basic exposure alone may only provide the foundation for gaining a [mechanics based] advantage. To reflect the practice and experience to gain that benefit consistently, typically requires a cost in Character Points.

Learning Attempt Times and Cost

Times must be a couple of hours spent each day while the practicioner is not Lame, Poisoned, Diseased, etc (though simply being wounded wont preclude it) and has the space and mobility to perform the training. Costs are for protective wear, dummy construction, workout clothes, lighting/painting/cleaning/misc. costs and obstruction and terrain placeholders/simulators to ensure the character learns it in all circumstances.

Learning Attempt Check: DC 10 Intelligence (or repeat with half time and costs for a new check)

d20 [specific] Requirements: Minimum Intelligence 12; Kinetic Aptitude 1 OR 5 [Kinetic] Allotted Essence = reduces Times by half; Intelligence Requirement by 5/Add +5 to Learning (use either Athletics or Acrobatics) check. It must be taught by a Battle Master, or someone with Lore: Tactics (Squad) 3+.

Learning Benefit: +1 to the Superiority Dice value when the Maneuver is engaged by a Battle Master/Initiate on the character.
