Trade Organizations/Institutions

Steel Realms

There are many Trade Organizations/Institutions of the Realms. Most or local, but a few are global or operate over a larger scale or area and are well known in all corners. The Law of the High King exist and generally governs all interactions with institutions. Most trade institutions fall are organized in a common way. Merchant Cities of the north and south are both ruled by a separate council of merchant ‘prinzes’ – the heads of the most powerful families. Together they share a culture which has its roots in the ancient Sea-King Imperium and have the most expansive land presence in the Trade Organizations/Institutions of the Realms, whereas the expertise of Gwinn generally controls most of the long distance trade on the seas.

Most large institutions of trade and finance in the Heartlands pay some homage to the Light god, Balthazaar, and has their weights, measurements, and processes drawn directly from, or derived by the Merchant’s Vault. The largest trade organizations typically use the Bank of the Silver Stacks for holding and exchanging their hard currency. The presence of the Theurgi Emporium mystical institution is prevalent across the southern merchant city territories and the greater heartlands.

Trade Zones: The Merchant Cities themselves see the Heartlands divided into two trade zones. Their policy is to not cross the boundaries set by either set.
