Helmandi Keep (ruins)
Helmandi Keep is an ancient Umbakian fortified keep overlooking Helmands Tract from above. It is cut in half by a chasm that tore it apart in an earthquake or similar type calamity. Whatever the source of the rift, it also collapsed some of the ridge line face – taking down the overlook wall facing south. All sorts of rumors and myths exist around the history of the place and how the rift came to be. The locals refer to it as “Vicious Rift” – explorers of the area invariably break bones, tear flesh, and shorten their life span in their actions.
Treasure Seekers: But it brings lots of treasure seekers to the region that often empty their savings into the local economy. The locals serve as bearers and guides for them, though most of their work goes to keep themselves alive and not those who paid for their services. Few return and those that do speak of treacherous cliffs, crumbling walls, wailing spirits and a lack of treasure… though it is rumored that it was abandoned in a hurry and all manner of valuable items wait to be found.
