Item Origins: Book of Vile Darkness (DnD 5th Edition DMG)

This tome is written in a shaky hand, on multiple types of humanoid flesh. It is dedicated to Mog Creoch. It is said to have appeared several times in hidden temples found to the dark force. It cannot survive direct exposure to sunlight and turns to dust – only to regenerate elsewhere, burried in the earth. The book itself is immune to rot and disease.

Advantages

Ability Score: You cannot adjust Sanity
The owner may cast Poison Spray cantrip at will,cast at 1st level power.
Faerie Fire cannot target the owner.
The following spells (cast at 10th level or the owners level) are available to the attuned character, replenishing after each short or long rest.
1) Hunger of Hadar
2) Contagion
3) Evards Black Tentacles
If the owner sacrifices 3 innocents, that may cast Ray of Enfeeblement 1/round as a Reaction for 1 week thereafter.

Disadvantages

Non-metallic armor rots after 24 hours if worn by the possessor.

Cannot possess a Sanity of greater than 15 (reduced to 15 on attunement)
