Over the years, the bounty of the Gift of Ezrilus has been celebrated in all forms – field and womb – in a universally recognized celebration of life and fertility. In an age where violence takes so many lives, the celebration of life and fertility is critically important. In many places, it is a time of marriage and consummation. Although the role of women varies by place and culture, on this day especially, mothers and potential-mothers are placed upon a pedestal.
Community Based: Rulers, local Peers, even village leaders and mayors are set by custom to assist and sponsor much of the revelry and materials in as much as they can. It is also an acknowledgement of the community and the life it safeguards, and the role the community has in giving leaders power. It is time for them to give back and show that their wealth and success of the noble reigns of leadership rest upon the lives of the community.
