History of the Lily Theurgist Order

Steel Realms

For the Lily Theurgists order, the History of the Lily Theurgist Order is short and obscure other than their mercantile operations. The history of the order as a formal organization is marked by Elosar Farseer building the 70′ tall Tower of the Eagle in CY 9159.

The order’s own records state that the rise of long term prolonged conflict in Dunstrand, given the occupation of the Tarmysian peninsula by Gwinn, History of disputes with Umbak, and the tensions of the Twin River powers in the north created a large draw of mercenary and adventuring occult practitioners into Dunstrand. House Malor is very restrictive on outside influences and does not provide more than bare-bones services to non-members and prohibits much occult practice within Dunstrand, a local alternative to the meager Guild of Solars presence was needed. They and House Malor are NOT allies, but its mere existence indicates that House Malor must have some faith in the order’s dedication to the Grand Duchy of Dunstrand.

Scarce Knowledge / Hard Difficulty

A Founding Shrouded in Mystery: The founding and building of the order’s home (The Tower of the Eagle) was done outside of general knowledge. It is not an occult order that is currently known outside its local territories – it has no envoys or communication to other Occult organizations. House Malor has heard whispers and repeatedly tried to gain information on its construction and goals, but their agents have been stonewalled.

Rare Knowledge / Very Hard Difficulty

Only Available in the Order’s Own Records under the Tower of the Eagle

True Origins:

Elosar the Unique: Elosar is of human Bronzefolk lineage – he is a natural talent, with an occult aptitude of 4 but it is strangely enhanced beyond normal capabilities. He can sense Occult Aptitude like divine sense. He was found by Anwin through the strange dream sending ripples in time as Anwin grappled to destroy the early incarnations of The Gallantine Order for his Twin River council masters .

Secret Benefactor: The now-retired ‘mercenary’ archmagus Anwin donated occult books and money (mostly from those the Twin Rivers paid him to put down). Elosar was his last apprentice and it was a long range plan to take the knowledge Anwin acquired and use it against the Twin River powers. He could not act directly to betray as an oath, but his apprentice was brought in right before he retired. Several layers of people sought out a candidate based on the criteria which was eventually shaped by the League of the White Lily that Anwin knew intimately as an enemy, but against which he had nothing personal in the clashes with them.
