Hardkit Armor is a piecemeal ceramic and metal armor made by the Ducateon of the Steel Realms – masters of stone and metal working. They mass produce these super-lightweight pieces for their own people, and sometimes dwarves. Having elements of these Ducateon Items of the Steel Realms and not being of either race, a possessor will likely assume to have stolen them or looted them and be hunted and killed or at best treated with suspicion by Dwarves and Ducateon. They are never found as part of any normal armory as Armor of the Steel Realms. If any are ever gifted, they are marked with the rune for ‘gift’, in which case the possessor is treated well, but they are not to be repaired. The kit is designed for Ducateon physiology underearth fighting in cramped, close quarters.
The kit is a open face helm with a drop torc (covering the caste torc), medium (light) shield, and greaves. All the items are known to use their Dumat Liques technique which has not ever been replicated – not even by the Dwarves of the Steel Realms. Generally the kits are all made for Ducateon and Dwarves. The pieces are made to be shape fitted so that a direct frontal march to a foe gains a slight benefit in cover, though only the wearers normal movement rate can be used or the flexes expose the wearer like normal.
The ‘suit’ is only AC 12, +2 for the shield = 14 / 15 for direct frontal march for Ducateon/Dwarves only. It requires 14 Strength.
