MTG Mono Color challenge

Incarna hosted content does not necessarily represent the values, views, and perspectives of the Incarna Gaming Network. Hosted content exists as a favor to select players (and can be taken down without notice).

Part of the MTG play options challenge sets for us merry folk; This is to have a consistent MONO COLORED theme for an MTG multiplayer challenge. Note: artifacts/colorless are not part of a mono color – if an card has no basic mana symbol, it is not a color and therefore cannot be used. As usual, bring extra decks of any kind for casual play afterward.

  1. Focus: Each player will pick a single primary mana color/type – all cards in their deck must have that symbol and no others (besides additional colorless) in their casting cost.
  2. Follows Freeform – iTactical basics… unless otherwise specified here
  3. Format: Standard; No Commander/EDH or companions
  4. Construction: No crazy banned cards (Mox, lotus, etc.); Min Cards: 60; Nothing pre-constructed!

As always, if you cannot make a deck for this challenge, let the organizer know and they or one of the others can probably find or make a deck for you. Please dont do this because you are lazy, there is plenty of time between notice and event – the point is to have a creative effort to make a deck and then play it.

  5. NO “tribal/typal” (tribal specifically)
    • No more than 4 of any creature of the same type, i.e. “rogue”, “human”, “elf”, “goblin”, “soldier”, etc. – “human rogue” counts for both.
    • No creatures with changeling
    • You can have items/abilities that produce other colors (for powers that allow you to cast colors of opponents cards – this is very fringe, but allowed) but must still have the chosen color in their casting cost
    • Activated abilities may be strictly colorless for activation
  6. NO ante
  7. Victory conditions: 5 or less people = 1 multiplayer game – Last one standing; otherwise, single elimination duels until last person standing.
