Armor of Conviction

Armor of Conviction manifests armament-like effects based on their strength of Conviction as a Follower to protect them in situations of combat and martial action. It eschews physical or other forms of mystical armors in favor of absolute reliance on their Divine Principals‘ blessed protection and being Unfettered.

Activating: At the start of each new day or night (depending on faith; a Short Rest cycle regardless), the Follower removes any protections and bares themselves in ritual cleansing, enacting the Rite of Convictions’ Bulwark. This last until the same time the next day, or until such a time as they pick up or activate a shield or screen and/or don physical armor or cast a spell on themselves which provides similar such protections. All benefits are lost if so. Like many pure faith powers, it requires no Concentration. Conviction with multiple Principals does not enable multiple uses within the same time period.

Armor of Conviction at least has some constant minor visual manifestation. Its intent is to impress and demonstrate the power of Conviction. In most cases, it is some faint, ghostly armor covering the Follower’s body.

Defensive Benefits: The character receives an armor-like rating that absorbs and deflects. When they are struck while this is in effect, their opponents will see and hear manifestations of the divine as appropriate to their Principal.

Offensive Benefits: If the character lacks any physical modifier for attacking and damaging their enemies, the power of Conviction divinely inspires their own, limited to the Conviction rating of the follower. Some Followers may choose to display a small manifestation of divine presence when they are struck.
