Ponderaks Glint.

“The Crazies” of Ponderak’s Glint, the moon Formad VI – its got a cold atmosphere out on the edge of the rim worlds on the galactic south. The Crazies eventually suffer from a rotting disease that drove them mad. They appear as zombies.

Ideas for setting it into the steel Realms: Houska Castle. Instead of an actual space station high up on the cliffs, they see Houska Castle and think it is one.

The Structure Above

Although the wind and sleet make it difficult, way up on a wide ledge that juts into the air from one of the peaks as an obvious constructed edifice. Whatever it is, some of its surface glints even in the sleet and clouds high up, thousands of feet. It must be easily a 80 meters long and roughly rectangular, with a height of about half that.

DC=15 Stat=Perception Fail: Nothing

You can swear that there might be some source of lights flickering on it in addition to the reflection.

Gathering the Survivors

The group will gather under the overhang; They have to get out to look and explore. Its out of the worst of the wind and provides a temporary safe place. The beast will not attack the first night if they stay here.

The Ledge

Your pods dumped onto a ledge above a canyon. The ledge is about 2km long and a half km wide. A lot of ice and rocks have tumbled onto the ledge from the crash.

1 DAY SEARCH = PER EACH; DC 15 to find the cave entrance.
> It’s covered by debris initially; takes 2 hours to dig out with 4, or 1st night the serpent will clear some of it – enough to make a difficult crawl through

Initial Hour of Searching for easy finds – 3 unique items to distribute:
1) stun gloves (DC 13 Constitution check or Stunned 1 round > 1 SEU)
2) Explorer pole: 3’ utility pole (expand 12’ , d6 club, hook, grabber, light; 2 resilience; 12 str)
3) grapple square (small heavy patch throw 40′, expands to grapple (Large or smaller) what it hits DC 15 Strength to get out initial, DC 25 next round; 10 rounds)

The Wreckage

From the ledge, there appears to be no major section intact. Wreckage is strewn everywhere in small bits. There may be something of use down in there, but it could take days to soft through it.

Shifting Ice

The ice seems particularly slick in this area. Carefully moving through it, you feel it shift and suddenly the sheet becomes unstable. A massive piece twists and breaks, sending you sprawling.

DC=15 Stat=Intelligence (Geology) Fail: d6/3 bludgeon + d6/3 cold

The ice should not have broken given what you know.
