These ancient records referenced in Rastillion’s Disabolique come in multiple forms – scrolls, books, tablets of stone and metal, etc. They are sometimes complete, sometimes incomplete, copies and translations that may contain errors or purposeful obfuscations.
Common Costs/Requirements of the Knowledge Contained
SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE: Reference works and basic exposure alone may only provide the foundation for gaining a [mechanics based] advantage. To reflect the practice and experience to gain that benefit consistently, typically requires a cost in Character Points.
- Average Intellect – Those of low scholarship or mental capacity will find learning and practicing knowledge contained in the volumes to be difficult. That said, many that provide more unique powers do so as a focus for rote ritual and summoning, requiring nothing more than an average intellect.

- Essence sacrifice is common (not just pledged for Attunement) for either learning or enacting.
- Anima Reservoir sacrifice is common.
- Sanity sacrifice (permanent) and Propitiated as a fuel for powers and effects for either learning or enacting.
- Resilience (health/vigor) permanent sacrifice and Propitiated as a fuel for enacting some powers is common.
- Some sentient sacrifice as part of ritual is found in the most extreme of volumes.
Diabolic Inks: The works of Rastillions Diabolique try dark and thematic elements bordering on madness and the grotesque; All provide occult or divine insights to those who are willing to push the limits of the unknown and their understanding of what is reality. Many of the works, at least the partial ones, are inscribed with Skelosian Ink or something akin to it.
