In the The Steel Realms, Pan Ge’Diam is known as Pan-ged i’mn – it is a mythological place were creature of heat and flame dwell amongst cities of sand and glass. It is a Nakrian myth originally (the oldest references catalogued), a place where evil dwells and bad children are pulled into. Mirages of rippling light and heat in the desert are traps to take the unwary to this place. There are some accounts from elder battle in the Valley of Sighs which describe some of the same, but an even wider range of experiences. Most are written off and myth and hallucination. The Nakrians know of their truth though, and shamans there are said to be able to use the desert mirages as controlled portals.
It is said that the Merovin gain in strength there, but it makes their shifting ability more volatile as well – sometimes it is used as a vision quest destination for the most foolhardy or truly brave of the Merovin tribal leaders of Nakria. There are a few other places in The Steel Realms to get there – including a Emeraldian Gateway in Dunstrand, built long ago by the Seers from the Emerald Kingdoms.
