Religious Traditions of Nakria

Steel Realms

A similar pantheon to the north (their old gods were here before the refuges of The Blood of Saemon came), some with inevitable matching aspects, though not in name.

All Nakrian warriors carry their sacred fetish, called Fan-totu, into battle. It is usually of high value to them and others of their culture – a trophy taken by enemies.

Path of the Star Children (old Nakrian way)

The central and southern reaches still adhere to the divine ways of the ancient Celestials. They are organized into tribes and fall under the banner of the main celestials and their generals. A similar pantheon to the north (the gods were faint, but here before the refuges of The Blood of Saemon came), with matching aspects, and in some cases names. There is no holy symbol for those followers of the Star Children, though they have a personalized emblem tattooed on themselves. Several are collected over the years, related to their strength of faith. This serves as a holy symbol.

The tribes form around the celestine of Helca, and within the tribe are various factions which are organized around totem animals reflecting sparks.

Path of the Open Eyes (new Nakrian way)

This is the growing sect of modern Nakrians leaving behind the old ways. IT consists of elements of the newer gods of the Steel Realms, and the family unit: The Mother (Nhak-Enishu), the Father (Mobli-Man), the Daughter (Mond-Igan), and the Son (Damon-Amon-Ta).

Mobli-Man: (“battle shield”) This is the equivalent of Whelm, son of Aerna in the northern pantheon. He is the patron of fathers and leaders, as protector and warrior. He is one of the most popular gods in Nakria, next to the Mond-Igan and Enishu.

Mond-Igan: (“death bird”) Mirgue, the daughter of Mizras and Elancil, is venerated strongly as a chief patron in the cycle of birth, struggle, and death. The death bird strikes its foes down and carries away their souls to the Hall of the Dead. One must attract her attention on the battlefield by glory and deeds, or should death come else, one must pay. Her scream is the fan-totu of death itself.

Nhak-Enishu: (“dark queen”) This is the mother goddess of the south, the equivalent of Aerna. She is the wisdom which allows Mobli-Man to strike true against his foes. Her cloak is the color of desert sand, and brown earth. The protects and hides her children.

Damon-Amon-Ta: (The Blood Breaker) He who is without mercy. The evil all-one. Chaos, evil and all things bad.
