The Baronial Library of Crestwold

Steel Realms

The Baronial Library of Crestwold is an old library, under the west tower of Cerstwhile Keep (in the Barony of Crestwold) in the cellar, built into the plateau at Torrelson’s Ford the keep sits atop. It was once a hold out, with access to a underground water source and fresh air inlet from the ridge over the Murchart River to the north.

The library is an old dwelling, cut under the west tower’s cellar, built into the plateau Cerstwile Keep sits atop. The air flow is mostly constrained now, and the water access is collapsed due to earthquakes in the region emanating from Scar Flow.

It gets a visitor every few months only. It normally gets cleaned once a year, and visited less. A spiral stairwell in a tower of Crestwhile Keep leads downward and evens out about 20′ down and opens into the library. The library is a moldy smelling place where few go at all. Everything near the entrance is coated with a thin layer of dust, and other areas way more. There was once a sign in/visitors sheet – but the last date is the baron himself about 4 years ago. There is not even a pen there any more. The baronial library follows the standard protocols and organization followed by the ancient bardic order of the The Winding Wind, following the tradition of the Fallen East. Long has the tradition been left unfollowed though, and much of the furniture is pushed aside or absconded with. There is a small lectern area, where a high rise podium and seat is positioned to see the entire library. Off this lectern area are several private chambers with provisions for copying. It is known to be the location of the best regional maps and family histories collected of both Umbakian and Dunstrandian lineages.

Dunstrand Rising Living World CHRONICLE > Dunstrand Rising is a Living World campaign set in Grand Duchy of Dunstrand in the Steel Realms of the [Fantasy] Steel Realms Setting (planet of Helca).

What with the civil war of Bar-Innis and recent trade disputes, it has only been used for regional maps and histories a few years back.

A hidden passage leads to the ancient Moorlight Library (hidden refuge under Cerstwhile Keep) was dicovered.
