Southway Switch (of Crestwold)
Southway Switch is part of the Barony of Crestwold, this area is known as The “Southern Gateway to Crestwold”. It is mostly a stop over, especially in the seasons when the roads turn to mud. It is a smaller place, but has full caravan services, a wagon wright, mules and some horses. Halfling rum, gin, and pipe weed is also sold here from Loamwold. Each year, the After Harvest Faire of Ezrilus is held nearby – on the trade road to The Saelish.
Ruler: Family owned for 200 years; “Minister of Southway Switch” – has power to execute legal matters in the area.
Pop: 295 – Southway Switch has 230 and the rest at the hamlet of Galloway Switch; During the Ezrilus fall festival the population adds another 50-75 who prefer to stay in town instead of at the festival grounds.
places of Note in Southway Switch
- Fife’s Road: Leads NE out of the crossroads the Inn sits on… goes past the edge of the slurry with trade into Lilymarch and interior of Bar-Innis. The Margoye Switch is used in Jan-March during the wettest and runoff season – the road is flooded in parts and the switch is dry, but adds a few hours to the journey.
- Old Saelish Road: Leads east from the crossroads, into The Saelish
- River Road: Leads west into Crestwold
Galloway Switch
A place where many transient folk for the Festival of Ezrilus stay – where much of the open competition and mad celebrating goes on. It is about a quarter mile east near a ridge with orchards. It contains a few farmsteads, and a common hall. Many temporary structures stay up here for festival time and fall apart after years.

Run by Greg Dorl. His family runs it and he employs 12 more in a roadhouse sort of setting.
