Bestial Effigy of Darupet

Darupet’s Bestial Effigies are small carved figurines of various natural animals that become full and giant size and perform guardian and/or travel duties for their possessor.

The Bestial Effigy of Darupet are made by the Green Church of Darupet. The original figurines were made as guardians for travelers on pilgrimages or allies traveling to important meetings or places. Eventually they became guardians of sacred places, clergy, and a portable means of sending aid. Their triggers and use are not tied followers of the faith. Most of these were created during the Ages of Dominion, it is estimated about a thousand were made in a few hundred years. The few of these that are produced in the last few thousand years are produced only for followers of the Green Church, by the clergy of Darupet.

If a Bestial Effigy sits in one place unmoving for a year, it will, by its own accord, make its way to the nearest holy ground of the Green Church until another creature touches it, resetting the clock. Any Attuned can be commanded to return in the same fashion, and carry a message with them. The fate of several adventuring bands, pilgrims, messengers, and important travelers was discovered over the millennium this way.

It is believed that a few hundred of these may still be active in CY 9000’s. Because they work for even non-followers, their utility has persisted.
