Inn of Courtly Wages

Nearly every Umbakian settleement will have an Inn named “Courtly Wages”. This is a place for foreigners to congregate. Those who want to pay for other than simple fare – which locals normally partake of as part of their traditions of frugalness. Truly, most of these places have standards that are less than the normal services for locales – its just the expectations of foreigners are lower than many of the small folk of Umbak. These establishments are never lower than a “normal” level of accommodations and services according to Typical Mundane Service Costs of the Steel Realms.

  • A contract is provided for all who stay
  • The name is sarcastic – few things are ‘Courtly Wages’
  • Cleanliness is not required as part of staying
  • A full cleaning of the rooms is done on exit; assessed at the time
  • Stable is connected
  • All services can be purchased – it is acknowledged that there are ‘fixers’ in these places, but it has limits and keeps instability/chaos in check
