When the folk pacified the area of The Riverlands, after the Lords and Bronze and Sea Kings fought over it, the creatures of The Deeping rose up in several places trying to claim and terrorize the surface area along the river in what came to be known as “Halsrum’s Rise”. It was named after the knight Halsrum, who ventured into The Deeping suspecting there was a concerted and connected effort going on over years. He traveled underground, the distance of three riverlands, to confirm it. His journey caused havoc, and caused the disorganized yet concerted Nurth and others to attack simultaneously – to ‘rise up’.
This can only be found in the most ancient of records. It is a map of the journey of Halsrum, through 4 “nests” of The Underlit lands. All of them once a place where the sunless enemies from The Deeping sortied at night to attack the lands of Dunstrand. It is said that a spur of the path, collapsed by allies of Halsrum (where he allegedly died trying to affect its closure), lead directly to the underlit lands of Hungerdouse.
