Many of the soldiers, warriors, and knights that are adherents of the Lightbringers are pledged to serve even after their death. On their emblems, their clothing, and by a necklace or any other symbols is the golden lotus. This generally gives them a slightly different rite of death and burial, consigning their soul to the waiting place they have desired before they go on to their next step of their journey to death.
This lotus represents the “Garden of Light” – an ever unchanging place where the souls of devout Lightbringer warriors go to wait and fight in the epic battles against darkness beyond the material world, even the final one for Helca when the unholy trio will try and snuff out all light, even the sun. Until then, they pray and test each other’s strength and prowess. Their wounds (even death) heals each night. In this, they conquer pain over time, preparing them for the great battle. Games, honey cakes, mutton, bread, mead, wine, and hot cider are laid out every day. They wake and rest at the same time every “day”, it happens instantly and for a perfect 8 hours of sleep with pleasant dreams. The horn of battle sounds at the same time each day, calling them to arms.
