The Friendless (mechanist sect of Delleth)
There is a sect associated with Delleth (though has no direct sponsorship) that pays homage to the seeking of knowledge and technological invention. It is unconstrained, and is considered abominations by Umbakian mechanists and foolish by the Ducateon. They pursue great miracles of technology. They have less control, using natural but unstable forms of power (gun powder, radioactivity, electrical, steam). These seekers often end up killing themselves in spectacular ways (with an assist perhaps from their enemies?). They are destroyed where they are come across by Umbakians. They are called “The Friendless” as they have no higher power they rely on, those favorably inclined call them inventors, investigators, alchemists, mechanists, or machinists.
They are hunted by the followers of darkness to harness ways around the sunlight bane.
They are hunted as reckless abominations by Umbakians.
They often have their contraptions and objects taken by the Ducateon, as if they were children playing with fire.
Most others are wary of them, because of their reputation for blowing things up. Some say they have found a place in Nakria, where they are accepted. Stories and rumors exist of Celestine powers gathering their trinkets after their demise, or protecting them before it happens. Other rumors exist that a group of them exist in the north, employed by Kaaldian rulers or along the Blue Wall against the Lich Lords.
