The Orrish ‘Walk South’ The People of Nurthland Make a Last Stand
The Orrish ‘Walk South’: CY 2302-2331
The armies of Nurthland bought precious time for the cities and settlements of the shining east to be evacuated. Despite a series of heroic stands, the plains flooded, the dark clouds threw down lightning and torrential rains, undermining city walls and drowning armies or sweeping them off the field in a flood of debris. They fought and fought until the few remaining forces of Nurth and Redwood stood alone in the Bloodhook Mountain Range, its populace and its armies were encircled and cut off. Over a fifty thousand of the population were taken captive by the Orrish host. Nurthland fell, and with it, the entire east was lost and referred to as The Fallen East. Its tales are collected in a cycle of volumes titled “The Faul of Nurthland“. The enslaved populace became the Nurth of the Steel Realms.
The peoples of Nurthland – faerie, grollen and human alike were given over to the Orrish breeding troughs, eventually giving rise to the evil Nurthlings. mixed with Ork blood and had their fear and hatred cultivated. The Orrish way of life – death, suffering, strength, cannibalism; all the most ghastly parts of Darkland culture and society were integrated into their life.
