Encryption is a form of technology wherein information is encoded a certain way and using processes and technology available in a setting to restrict each access to the targeted information. Ciphers and keys are used to hold the means of decryption on the information.
Encryption Strength: The strength of encryption denotes the power, knowledge, and/or processes that must be used in decryption. This is measured in levels, 1 being weakest, and 20 being the strongest. Unforeseen and/or alien technology may provide levels even greater.
In trying to break Encryption, a character uses their Cryptography skill, reducing their effective skills level by the level of encryption. Automated programs can also be used without living creature intervention to replace or assist decryption.
