Umbakians bound Spirits of Order (___ Presence of ____ Spark) into a 40m metal hulled ship and was sending it into battle. It was powered by strange crystals and heat, a sail of woven steel mesh and canvas to stand the power of the wind spirits. It was sent into battle 5 years ago to crush the forces of Gwinn in Tarmysia off the Queen’s Coast.
Tablets of Sending were keeping in contact with the priests of Balthazaar, the RUF (Royal Umbakian Fleet) “Whelm’s Cloak” engaged two Gwinnish war galleys and defeated them. Despite the poor quality of the Umbakian seamanship compared to Gwinn’s navy, it won the engagement. On their way home, they encountered a freak storm out of nowhere. They lost contact.

There is a massive wave that comes in and swamps the queen’s coast and the whole inlet all the way up to Torrelson’s Ford and into Yarans Round. It goes up the Black Shore but is stopped by an unknown force.

Whatever you doing in interrupted by a scream inside your head. Its as if your blood turns to water and a vibration runs through your veins along with it! You drop to the ground in fear and terror, writhing.
The water elemental screams to those it’s bound to and then is silent but will say nothing except in its native language. It can only say that a powerful elemental portal was both opened and closed, and there was a sense of ‘the endless’ and death – several of its brethren are dead – their death screams carried on the wind and waves.
What Happened: It’s the great old one Hardrache Entity (“har-draeke”) coming through a the gateway the Umbakians opened, the biggest gateway ever opened between Helca and another realm. It is known as “Sekdurn” – his eyes have the starry night reflected in them, black with pinpoints of glittering light. He arrives at sea, where the boat is. The conveyance (the Far Horizon) is now covered in Bale Realm Infection – The properties of Nightmaria seep into and infect an place or object, imbuing it with a Glooming Bond. It will begin searching for the Book, and try and find a way for the PCs to retrieve it and summon its entity.
