Monitor and Activate (trigger)

Monitoring and Activation can use one or more sources and triggers.

The aspects of Monitoring and Activation (sensory, chronological, etc.), Item Operation Forms (electronic, mechanical, etc.), Item Operation Interactions (access, bypass, etc.), and Targeting are used to set up powers and technological manifestations of Item Types. They are also key to Device Use skills.

  • Local Source: In regards to devices, powers, etc. the trigger source is, unless specified otherwise, local.
  • Remote Source: In regards to devices, powers, etc. the trigger source is remote – i.e. the act of triggering it take place remotely. It typically requires some capability of monitoring and processing data of the locale in order to activate the trigger.
